Folkloric practices regarding treatment of animal diseases in Adıyaman

Çalışma, Adıyaman ilinde, halk arasında hayvan hastalıklarında kullanılan ilaç ham maddeleri ile bu hastalıklarda uygulanan folklorik uygulamaları belirlemek amacıyla yapıldı. Bu amaçla, Adıyaman’da hayvancılıkla uğraşan 81 kaynak kişiyle, gönüllülük esasına dayalı olarak yüz yüze görüşüldü. Veriler içerik analizi yöntemiyle değerlendirildi. Çalışmada, yörede, yetiştiriciliğinde ve hastalıklarının tedavisinde; hayvansal (tereyağı, yumurta, süt, yılan derisi vb.), bitkisel (hiro çiçeği, pirpirim, sumak vb.) madensel (göztaşı, sabun, mürekkep, tuz vb) kökenli maddelerinin kullanıldığı belirlendi. Hayvanlar huysuzlandığında, süt miktarı azaldığında, nazardan koruma amaçlı dini - sihri tedaviye başvurulduğu; muska yazdırıldığı, okunmuş şeker yedirildiği, nazar boncuğu veya gürgen ağacı dallarının boyun boynuzlarına asıldığı; bazı hastalık durumlarda (zehirlenme, sarılık, çıkık, yara kan akıtma, deri altına hava üfleme, dağlama gibi uygulamaların yapıldığı saptandı. Sonuç olarak, ilinin veteriner hekimliği folkloru açısından kökenleri Eski uygarlıklara baytarnamelere uzanan zengin bir birikime sahip olduğu, yörede tedavisinde hala ampirik dini-sihri yöntemlerin uygulandığı ayrıca günümüz modern tedavi yöntemlerine benzer da ileri sürülebilir.
